Volunteers - We need your help!
Volunteers
We need your help!
Our centre simply cannot run without volunteers. Some of our riders need a leader and 1 or 2 side-walkers. We have up to 4 riders in each session which means we do not have enough staff to operate safely.
To be a volunteer, you do not have to be “horsey”. There are heaps of other ways you can help us.
Our main focus is in the stables getting the horses geared up and ready for their riders in the morning. At the end of the day we need to put the gear away and get the horses up into their paddock for the night.
We need volunteers in the arena to lead a horse, or to sidewalk with our riders. Experience is not necessary as full training will be given.
You do not have to have worked with disabled people before as we will teach you what you need to do to help the riders mount, dismount, side-walk and help them succeed.
It is very rewarding and everyone gets a great deal of pleasure out of helping us.
Can you spare as little as an hour a week to help us with:
- Gardening
- Cleaning
- General Handyman work
- Cleaning donated tack/helping in our Second Hand Shed
- Sweeping the hay barn
- Plus much, much more...
There is so much to do and we can never have enough time to do it all, so please don’t be put off if you do not know anything about horses or disabled people.
WE WILL TEACH YOU ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW.
